13. After the driver has been copied to the system, Setup returns to the SCSI
controller Setup dialog box. Compaq Drive Array appears in the list of
installed SCSI controllers. Select Close.
14. Exit the program.
15. Remove the Windows NT SSD from the drive, shut down Windows NT,
and reboot the server to load the updated driver.
Removing the Smart Array 221
Controller Driver
IMPORTANT: DO NOT remove this driver if the system is booting from a
device attached to a Smart Array 221 Controller. This prevents Windows NT
from booting.
1.
Start Windows NT 3.5x and log in to an account with administrative
privileges.
2.
Start the Windows NT Setup program from the Main Program Manager
program group.
3.
Select Add/Remove SCSI adapters from the Options menu.
4.
Select Compaq Drive Array from the list of installed SCSI controllers.
5.
Select Remove. A Setup dialog box displays asking you to confirm the
removal of the SCSI controller.
6.
Select OK. Another Setup dialog box displays notifying you that the
controller has been marked as a boot device and that removing it may
cause the system not to boot. Select OK.
7.
After the driver has been removed from the system, Setup returns to the
SCSI Adapter Setup dialog box. The driver is longer be displayed in the
list of SCSI controllers installed on the system.
Select Close.
8.
Exit the program.
9.
Shut down Windows NT and reboot the server.
Proceed to the last section in this chapter, "Updating the Compaq Insight
Management Agents."
