5G Waveform and EVM Analysis Using VSA Software
On the N9040B:
— Open the VSA software by selecting Mode Meas > Launch VSA.
If accessing the instrument via a Remote Desktop connection, select the
Screen tab (at the top of the display) to open the
Mode/Measurement/View Selector window.
In the VSA software:
1. From the menu bar, select File > Preset > All to set the VSA to a known
2. Set the Center Frequency to 28 GHz, then select Auto Range
3. From the toolbar, select the Pause Icon.
Pausing the measurement will help to speed up the setup time.
TIP
4. From the menu bar, select Input > Trigger and set Style to External and

Auto Range samples the current input signal and then sets the full scale
input range to the minimum range that includes the peak voltage sample
of the input signal.
Level to 1.0 V.
