Notes on service products and filling
capacities
Service products are:
Fuels (e.g. petrol, diesel)
Lubricants (e.g. engine oil, transmis-
sion oil)
Coolant
Brake fluid
Windscreen washer fluid
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you
use products which are referred to in the
Mercedes-Benz Owner's Manual which
have been tested and approved by
Mercedes-Benz, because:
vehicle parts and service products are
matched to each other
damage resulting from the use of non-
approved service products is not cov-
ered by the warranty
You can recognise approved service prod-
ucts from the following inscription on the
container:
MB-Freigabe (e.g. MB-Freigabe
229.51)
MB-Approval (e.g. MB-Approval
229.51)
Other markings or recommendations that
refer to a quality level or specification cor-
responding to a MB approval have not nec-
essarily been approved by Mercedes-Benz.
You may obtain further information from
any Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.

service products, please observe the rele-
vant regulations. You could otherwise en-
danger yourself and other persons.
Keep service products away from children.
For the sake of your health, do not allow
service products to come into contact with
your eyes or open wounds. Consult a doctor
immediately if any service product is swal-
lowed.
