Using the oil dipstick
!
If the engine is not at normal operating tem-
perature, the engine oil will be too cold for a cor-
rect measurement to be made.

1 Oil dipstick
2 Filler neck
Pull out dipstick 1.
Wipe the dipstick clean.
Insert the dipstick in the dipstick tube
as far as it will go and pull it out again.

The engine oil level is correct if the oil
is between the lower and upper marks
on the dipstick.

The difference in the quantity of oil between
the upper and lower marks on the dipstick is ap-
proximately 1.5 litres.
If necessary, top up the engine oil or si-
phon off excess oil.

Topping up the engine oil
Untwist the cap on filler neck 2.
Add the required amount of engine oil.

Siphon off any excess engine oil. If too much
engine oil is added, there is a risk of damage to
the engine or the catalytic converter.
Twist the cap back onto filler neck 2.

Environmental note
When topping up the oil, take care not to
spill any. Oil must not be allowed to escape
into the soil or waterways. You would other-
wise be damaging the environment.
