Warning and indicator lamps in the
instrument cluster
Problem
- The yellow ABS warning
lamp is lit while the en-
gine is running.
Possible cause/
consequence
G
Risk of accident
ABS is deactivated due to a mal-
function.
The brake system continues to
work normally, but without elec-
tronic support. The wheels can
therefore lock, e.g. as a result of
a full brake application.
If the ABS control unit is defec-
tive, other systems may also
malfunction, e.g. the automatic
transmission.
