Tyres and wheels

For safety reasons, Mercedes-Benz recom-
mends that you use tyres which have been spe-
cially approved by Mercedes-Benz for your
vehicle. These tyres have been specially de-
signed for control systems such as ABS and are
labelled "MO" (Mercedes-Benz Original).
If you use other tyres, Mercedes-Benz cannot be
held responsible for any damage that may occur.
Information about tyres can be obtained from
any Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.

If you fit tyres other than those approved
and recommended by Mercedes-Benz, proper-
ties such as handling characteristics, noise lev-
els and fuel consumption, etc. may be adversely
affected. Moreover, dimensional variations and
different tyre deformation characteristics when
running under load could cause the tyre to make
contact with the bodywork or axle components.
This could result in the tyre or the vehicle being
damaged.

Speed index for tyres
The speed index is part of the tyre designa-
tion. It indicates the speed range for which
a tyre is suitable.

N Up to 140 km/h
Q Up to 160 km/h
R Up to 170 km/h
S Up to 180 km/h
H Up to 210 km/h
