Changing the Melter Software Version

As new features and fixes become available, you will likely want to upgrade
the melter software. However, in some cases, you may want to downgrade or
return to the previous version of the software.
The following section details Upgrading, Downgrading, and Restoring to the
previous software version in greater detail.
NOTE: Some features, options, and bug fixes that were available on the
newer version of the software may not be available if you downgrade or
restore to previous version.
Upgrading and Downgrading the Melter Software
Version
When you insert a USB drive into the melter, if a .DAT file is on the root of the
USB and if the .DAT is newer than what is on the melter, then the melter
automatically assumes you want to change the version of the software.
If more than one .DAT file is on the root of the USB drive, or if you want to
downgrade, then you must go to Home | Tools | Manage Software and
decide what you want to do; Upgrade Software or Restore to previous
version.
You can select which .DAT file you want to use. The .DAT file includes the
date and time in the name so you can decide whether you want to upgrade or
downgrade. Use your Up/Down buttons on the Navigation pad to select
which .DAT file you want. Press
downgrade.
NOTES:
S
When transferring files between the melter and BBconn Cloud, the USB
drive must be formatted using FAT or FAT32. No other format, such as
NTFS and exFAT are supported.
S
Upgrading/Downgrading takes about 10 minutes to complete. A
confirmation message appears to indicate if the upgrade/downgrade was
successful or not.
S
After the last reboot, the Home screen appears.
S
Do not remove the USB drive while upgrading.
S
The System Status cycles between Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green, and all
LED lights remain on while the software is being upgraded/downgraded.
S
The upgrade/downgrade will fail if you remove the USB drive before the
process is done, or if you switch the melter Off, or if there is a loss of
power. When the process is interrupted for any of the above reasons,
upon reboot, the software version remains as it was before the
interruption.
