VP Tunneling over WAN The three enterprise networks illustrated are
connected over a WAN VP switch by means of VP tunneling. The full set
of LANE services are provided, including broadcast services to all stations
in the enterprise.
Figure 8 shows the connections, where the CoreBuilder 7000 ATM switch
in the enterprise headquarters has the LES and LECS LANE services and
provides the multicast capability across the WAN. The PABX units in each
network are connected through an AccessBuilder 9600 unit to a
CoreBuilder 7000 ATM switch where it is consolidated with video and
data and the resulting data is fed to the WAN through another
AccessBuilder 9600 unit. This example illustrates how voice, video and
data are sent simultaneously over a single network.
