Functional Overview
5.2.1 General Concepts
The following discussion explains several concepts that are important for understanding
module operation.
Module Power Up
On power up the module begins performing the following logical functions:

Initialize hardware components
Initialize CompactLogix or MicroLogix backplane driver

Test and Clear all RAM

Initialize the serial communication ports

Module configuration

Initialize Module Register space
After this initialization procedure is complete, the module will begin communicating with
other devices on the network, depending on the configuration.
Main Logic Loop
Upon completing the power up configuration process, the module enters an infinite loop
that performs the following functions:
