Star-triangle switch-on (> 5kW)
If the motor protection is installed in the strand: set the motor protection to 0.58 x rated current. The max. start-up
time in the star connection is 3s.
If the motor protection is not installed in the strand: set the motor protection to the rated current at full load.
Starting transformer / smooth start switch-on
The motor protection should be set to the rated current at full load. We recommend setting the motor protection
at 5% above the current measured at the operating point for partial load operation. The max. start-up time with a
reduced voltage (approx. 70 %) is 3s.

5.8.1 After switch-on

The nominal current is exceeded briefly during the start-up process. After this process has been completed, the
operating current should not exceed the nominal current again. If the motor does not start up immediately after
switch-on, it must be switched off immediately. Before the motor is switched on again, the switching pauses
specified in the technical data must be observed. If the problem is repeated, the pump must be switched off
immediately again. Switch-on may only be attempted again after the problem has been eliminated.
The following points should be checked:
• Operating voltage (permissible deviation +/- 5% of the rated voltage)
• Frequency (permissible deviation -2% of the rated frequency)
• Current consumption (permissible deviation between the phases max. 5%)
• Difference in voltage between the individual phases (max. 1%)
• Switching frequency and pauses (see "Technical data")
• Entry of air at the inlet, a baffle plate may have to be fitted
• Minimum water cover, level control, dry-run protection
• Smooth running
• Check for leaks, carry out the necessary steps according to the "Regular maintenance" chapter if necessary.
