Set-up and putting into operation
5.1
General points
Please comply with the installation and operating instructions for the relevant engineering chambers (chamber
system) from Kessel AG during setting-up and putting into operation.
To avoid damage to the pump during set-up and in operation, the following points must be taken into account:
•
Set-up work must be carried out by qualified members of staff and taking the safety regulations into account.
•
The pump must be examined for any damage before it is set-up.
•
Where level controls are used, pay attention to the minimum water cover.
•
Air pockets in the pump housing and pipes must be avoided at all cost (through suitable venting devices or by
tilting the pump slightly).
•
Protect the pump from frost.
•
The service room must be designed for the relevant pump. This includes the possibility of setting up lifting gear
to install/dismantle the pump with which the pump's place of installation can be reached safely.
•
The lifting gear must have a maximum load-bearing capacity that lies above the combined weight of the pump
with fixtures and cables.
•
The pump's electric cables must be routed in such a way that hazardous operation and simple assembly/
removal is possible.
•
The electric cables must be correctly fastened in the service room so as to prevent them from hanging around
loosely. A cable bracket must be fitted very 2-3 m depending on the length and weight of the cables.
•
Dry running is strictly forbidden. We recommend the standard settings of the Kessel level control and
corresponding control units.
