Packaging, transport and storage

4.1

Delivery

The shipment must be checked for damage and completeness immediately after receipt. Any shortcomings must
be reported to the transport company or contractual partner on the day of receipt, since claims can no longer be
made otherwise. Any damage must be noted on the delivery or freight note.
4.2

Transport

Only use the designated and approved lifting gear, means of transport and hoisting devices for transportation.
These must have a sufficient lifting and load-bearing capacity so that the product can be transported without any
danger. If chains are used, these must be secured against slipping. The personnel must be qualified for this work
and must comply with all applicable national safety regulations during work.
The products are delivered by the manufacturer and/or supplier in suitable packaging. This usually excludes
damage during transport and storage. Keep the packaging in a safe place for re-use in the event of frequent
changes of location.
4.3

Storage

Newly delivered products are conditioned so that that they can be stored for 1 year. The product must always be
cleaned before any intermediate storage.
The following must be heeded for storage:
• Set the product down safely on a firm base and secure it from falling over.
• Toppling hazard!
• Never set the product down unsecured. Risk of injury if the product falls over!
• if the pump has to be stored, the storage location should be free from vibrations and shocks since these could
otherwise damage the rolling bearings.
• Care must also be taken that the device is stored in dry rooms in which there are no significant variations in
temperature.
• Care must be taken that the corrosion protection layer is not damaged during storage and handling of the
pump.
• The pump may not be stored in rooms in which welding work is carried out in because the gases and radiation
that is produced could attack the elastomer parts and coatings.
• In the case of products with suction and/or discharge connection, these must be sealed tight to prevent soiling.
• All power supply cables are to be protected against kinking, damages and humidity penetration.
Risk caused by electric current!
There is a danger to life from damaged power supply cables!
Faulty cables must be replaced immediately by a qualified electrician. Approved companies only may work on
ATEX pumps.
