Maintenance dates

Once a month:
• Check current consumption and voltage
• Check the control units used for PTC thermistors, seal chamber check etc.
Every six months:
• Visual inspection of the power supply cables
• Visual inspection of the cable clips and rope anchor
• Visual inspection of accessories, e.g. suspension device, lifting gear etc.
3000 operating hours:
• Visual check
8000 operating hours or after 2 years at the latest:
• Check on insulation resistance
• Change the operating fluid in seal chamber
• Check and if necessary replace the coating
• Functional check of all safety and monitoring devices.
In addition, the normative specifications concerning the inspection and maintenance of lifting stations must be
heeded.

Maintenance work

Check current consumption and voltage
The current consumption and voltage at all 3 phases must be checked regularly. These remain constant during
normal operation. Slight deviations depend on the properties of the pumping medium. Damage and/or faulty
functions of the impeller/propeller, bearings and/or motor can be recognised early and eliminated on the basis of
current consumption. Thus more serious subsequent damage can be avoided to a large extent and the risk of total
failure be reduced.
Check the control units used for PTC thermistors, seal chamber check etc.
Check the control units used for perfect function. Faulty units must be replaced immediately since they do not
guarantee protection for the pump. The specifications related to the testing process must be heeded exactly (
operating instructions for the respective control units).
Check on insulation resistance
The power supply cable must be disconnected to check the insulation resistance. The resistance can then
be measured with an insulation tester (measurement DC voltage is 1000Volt) Values may not be below those
indicated in the following:
The insulation resistance may not fall below 20 MΩ during initial commissioning. The value must be greater than
2 MΩ during further measurements. Insulation resistance too low: moisture may have penetrated the cable and/or
motor.
Do not connect the pump, consult the manufacturer!
