The correct direction of rotation of the pump is given if the pump moves anti-clockwise since the motor runs in a
clockwise direction when viewed from above.
Beware of rotating impeller!
Do not touch the rotating impeller or reach into the pump chamber through the pressure ports! Never reach into
the pump chamber or touch the rotating parts during operation. Always switch the pump off and allow the rotating
parts to come to a standstill before carrying out maintenance or repair work.

3.4.3 Waterproofing layer / sealing housing

The waterproofing layer is provided by two independent floating-ring type shaft seals of silicon carbide in a
tandem arrangement. The sealing housing is located between the motor and pump housing. It consists of the
bearing housing and the pressure cover, which together form the seal chamber that is filled with medical white oil.
This can be checked thanks to the inspection screw in the bearing housing.

3.4.4 Pump housing

The pump housing comes with various connections depending on the model type and motor variant. This results
in an optimum connection to the Kessel pipework units.

3.4.5 Impeller

The impeller is mounted on the motor shaft and is driven by this.
The impellers are of different designs depending on the type of pump and application case:
K: Closed single-vane impeller, for soiled and sludge-like pumping media with few coarse materials (e.g. after
separator systems)
F: Non-chokable impeller, for stringy pumping media with coarse and fibrous soiling (e.g. grey water and
rainwater)
