Changing operating fluid
The drained operating fluid must be checked for soiling and water constituents. If the operating fluid is heavily soiled
and there is a water share of more than 1/3, it must be changed again after 4 weeks. If there is water in the operating
fluids again, a seal is probably defective. Please contact the KESSEL Factory Customer Service in this case.
Since there are a wide variety of versions and designs for this pump, the exact position of the screwed sealing plug
varies depending on the pump part that is used.
Unscrew the filler plug for the seal chamber slowly and carefully.
Caution: the operating fluid may be under pressure!
Unscrew the drain plug. Drain the operating fluid and collect in a suitable tank. Clean the drain plug, fit a new
sealing gasket and screw back into place. Tilt the pump slightly to one side to empty it completely.
Make sure that the pump cannot topple over and/or slip away!
Place the pump horizontally and fill with operating fluid. Pay attention to the prescribed operating fluids and filling
amounts.
Clean the filler pug, fit a new sealing gasket and screw back into place.
The following is generally valid for changing operating fluids:
Switch the pump off, allow it to cool, disconnect from the mains power supply (have a specialist do this work), clean
and set down vertically on a firm base. Warm or hot operating fluids can be under pressure. Escaping operating
fluids can lead to burns. For this reason, always allow the pump to cool to ambient temperature first. Secure it from
falling over and/or slipping.
