3.4.1 Motor

The 3-phase asynchronous motor consists of a stator and the motor shaft with the rotor stack. The lead for the
current supply is designed for the maximum mechanical output according to the pump's characteristic curve or
type plate. The cable ducts as well as the lead are sealed off water pressure-tight against the pumping medium.
The shaft is borne in sturdy, maintenance-free and permanently lubricated rolling bearings.

3.4.2 Monitoring devices

The unit is equipped with various monitoring and safety devices.
Temperature sensor
All pumps are fitted with a test of temperature sensors in the motor windings.
The temperature sensors in the explosion-proof model types are to be connected via the wire ends T1 and T2 of
the connection cable so that a manual reset is necessary after triggering (latching).
The temperature sensors in the normal model types are to be connected via the wire ends T1 and T3 of the
connection cable so that when the motor has cooled down, it switches back on again automatically.
The set of temperature sensors must be connected in the control unit so that the pump switches off if it overheats.

Control of direction of rotation
3-phase motors have the correct direction of rotation if connected to a rotary field rotating clockwise (U, V, W ->
L1, L2, L3). When a KESSEL AG control unit is used, a rotary field fault is indicated. If the direction of rotation
is wrong, 2 phases of the mains connection must be swapped. The given pumping and output data are only
achieved with a rotary field rotating clockwise. The pumps have not been designed for operation with a rotary field
rotating anti-clockwise.
