Operative malfunction due to impermissible cabling.
For connection of the I-port devices to the CTEL master

module, use only the special I-port connecting cables
from Festo (see also appendix A.3).
Observe that the length of the I-Port connecting cables is
•
limited to a maximum of 20 m.
You will then avoid errors in data exchange between the
CTEL master module and the connected devices.
For an operation with tool change, there are special specifica-
tions that must be observed in designing the connection
lines.
The interface in the connecting cable must be constructed so
that, when creating the connection, the contacts of the device
supply voltage (24 V PS and 0 V PS) must first be energised.
Otherwise, through the voltage present on the cable C/Q
when the connection is created, a short circuit might be re-
ported temporarily.
