1. Installation

1.4 Connecting to the field bus

There is a field bus plug on the CP valve terminal for
connecting it to the field bus. The following must be
connected to this plug:
– the two bus cables
– the voltage supply (+ 24 V DC und 0 V) for the bus
– the cable screening/shield.
The hardware basis of the bus interface is the CAN
bus. A typical feature of this bus is that the bus inter-
face is supplied with voltage via the field bus plug.
Field bus The bus connection is made via a branch line with a
socket 5-pin M12 socket with a PG 9 screw connector. These
can be obtained from Festo (type FBSD-GD-9-5POL,
part no. 18324).
Alternatively you can use the ready-to-use bus cables
supplied by various manufacturers (see also Appendix
A, Accessories).
PLEASE NOTE
Refer to your PLC manual or bus interface manual to
ascertain which T-adapter and maximum branch line
length are permitted for your controller.
