4.2.10 Removing the ASF Assembly

1. Remove the following:
" Upper case as described in
page 40
" Main board shield plate and disconnect the ASF home position
sensor cable from CN6 as described in
Boards"
on page 41
" Control panel as described in
page 40
" Waste ink tray as described in
on page 45
" Pump and capping mechanism as described in
Cap and Pump Assembly"
" Carriage motors described in
Assembly"
on page 49
" DE assembly as described in
Assembly"
on page 50)
2. Free any cables attached to the back of the ASF or hooked to its
right side (as viewed from the back).
3. Disconnect the cable from the ASF home position sensor.
4. Remove the two screws (No.7 and ASF fixing screw) securing the
ASF assembly to the bottom frame, as shown below.

5. Using a screwdriver, free the right side of the ASF assembly (as
viewed from the back) from the positioning pin on the printer
frame, shown in Figure 4-32. Then hold up the paper support lever
and pull the ASF backward out of the printer, as shown in
Figure 4-34.

When installing the ASF assembly, make sure the pin on
