3. Pry up the top of the control panel to separate it from the metal
frame, as shown above.
4. Tilt the control panel up to the right to release the hooks on the
bottom.
5. Remove the paper output tray.
6. Pull the control panel straight off the front of the printer, wiggling it
if necessary to free the plastic joints. Disconnect the control panel
cable.
7. Remove the No.3 screws securing the control panel board to its
housing. Then lift out the control panel board together with its
metal mounting bracket.
R E A S S E M B L Y
Reattach the cable to the control panel board before
mounting the control panel back on the printer. It's
easiest to reattach the cable with the board removed
from the control panel housing.

4.2.3 Removing the Circuit Boards

The main board and the power supply board are housed in one
assembly.
1. Remove the upper case (see
page 40)
2. Remove the seven (EPSON Stylus Photo 870) or eight (EPSON
Stylus Photo 1270) No.1 screws securing the circuit board shield
plate to the printer, as shown below. (On the EPSON Stylus
Photo 1270, there is an extra screw to the right of the AC cable
inlet.)

3. Pull out the circuit board shield plate slightly so you can lift off the
cable clips, shown in Figure 4-3.

4. Disconnect all cables between the main board and the printer
mechanism, then remove the circuit board assembly completely.
5. To remove the main board from the assembly, remove the 12
screws shown in Figure 4-5 (five screws on the back and seven on
top).
6. To remove the power supply board from the assembly, remove
the four screws shown in Figure 4-5. Then remove the cables from
CN1 and CN10.
C A U T I O N
CN10 is a push-down locking connector. Release the lock
before removing the cable.
