2.3.6 Capping Mechanism

The capping mechanism caps the printhead to let the pump
mechanism vacuum ink from the ink cartridges. It also keeps the
printhead surface clean and moist while the printer is turned off. This
prevents ink from clogging while the printer is not in use. (See the
