1. Remove the auto sheet feeder (see
Assembly" on page 53.
2. Using a small screwdriver, release the hook securing gear 32 to
the right side of the drive shaft and remove the gear, as shown
below.

3. Remove the E-clip securing the right hopper release cam to the
shaft, and then remove the cam.
4. Remove the E-clip located just to the inside of the left hopper
release cam.
5. Slide the drive shaft to the left as far as it goes to expose the
locking tab on the sensor wheel. Gently pry the locking tab up and
slide the wheel off the shaft, as shown below.

6. Slide the drive shaft all the way to the right. Then remove the E-
clip located between the right loading roller and the right side of
the ASF frame.
7. Slide the shaft out of the ASF assembly.
8. Disengage the hopper assembly from the two pins on which it's
hinged at the top of the ASF frame, as shown in Figure 4-48.
