EPSON Stylus Photo 870/1270

4.1 Overview

This chapter describes procedures for disassembling the EPSON
Stylus Photo 870/1270.
Unless otherwise noted, you can reassemble units by following the
disassembly procedure in reverse. Reassembly notes provide special
tips to help you reassemble the printer.

4.1.1 Precautions for Disassembling the Printer

Disconnect the power cable before disassembling or
W A R N I N G
assembling the printer.
!
Wear protective goggles to protect your eyes from ink and
flying parts. If ink gets in your eyes, flush them with fresh
water and see a doctor immediately.
!
If ink comes in contact with your skin, wash it off with soap
and water. If irritation occurs, contact a physician.
!
When transporting the printer, leave ink cartridges
C A U T I O N
installed in the printer.
!
Apply lubricants only as specified. (See
page 88 for details.)
!
Make all required adjustments after disassembling the
printer.
