4.2 Disassembly Procedures

4.2.1 Removing the Upper Case

1. Remove the paper support.
2. Open the output tray and lift up the printer cover.
3. Set the paper thickness lever to the + position.
4. Remove the two No.8 screws securing the front of the upper
case, as shown in Figure 4-1. Then remove the two No.8 screws in
the deep holes at the rear of the case.
5. Lift off the upper case.

4.2.2 Removing the Control Panel

Preparation:
! Remove the upper case (see the previous section).
1. If necessary (to access the control panel screws in the next step),
push the carriage lock lever down beneath the metal plate, as
shown below. Then slide the carriage to the middle.

2. Remove the two No.1 screws securing the top of the control
panel, as shown below.

3. Pry up the top of the control panel to separate it from the metal
frame, as shown above.
