4.2.18.2 Attaching the Encoder Wheel to Gear 76
1. Peel the protection tape off the encoder wheel.
2. Align the two small circular cutouts with the knobs on gear 76,
then press the encoder wheel slowly and carefully onto gear 76
side with AS tool 1051767, as shown in

Do not touch the inside of the central hole on the
C A U T I O N
encoder wheel or the side of the wheel with characters
printed on it.
!
Make sure the knobs on gear 76 fit all the way through
the small circular cutouts on the encoder wheel, as
shown in Figure 4-76.
!
Do not scratch the encoder wheel or get dirt or other
debris on it.

After replacing gear 76, be sure to set the correct backlash
