Provision Equipment
PURPOSE
This procedure is used to provision the 1677 SONET Link I/O modules. If equipped, VSC, TMUX,
and EDFA modules are also provisioned.
GENERAL
Refer to 1677 SONET Link Commands and Messages manual (PN 3EM13852AF) for more
information on commands and command syntax.
Refer to the 1677 SONET Link Address and Location Guide (PN 3EM13854AD) for module
locations.
There is no checklist for this procedure.

CAUTION: Possibility of service interruption. Use this procedure for only initial turn-up of
the system. Never use this procedure on a traffic-carrying system.
Install all modules to be provisioned in system. Refer to

Clear all alarms that prevent installation. Refer to 1677 SONET Link Maintenance

and Trouble Clearing manual (PN 3EM13853AF), then go to step 3.
