Create Database Backup

PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to backup the current provisioning data base of the
1677 SONET Link to an FTP server.
PREREQUSITES
To perform this procedure the NE being backed up must have IP-based access and the user must be
logged in to that node.
GENERAL
Prior to starting backup operation, the flash disks should be verified as synchronized. Both logical
flash disks A and B should be active (IS), and one physical flash disk (A9/A10 and B9/B10) on each
logical flash disk (A and B) should show primary (IS,WRK) and the other secondary (IS,STBYH).
The COPY-RFILE command is used to move database or software generic files from and to different
locations: disk storage on the NE or a Remote File Server (RFS).
The OPR-DISK command is used to activate, back up, or purge system image or configuration files.
For parameter descriptions of TL1 commands used in this procedure, refer to the 1677 SONET Link
Commands and Messages manual (PN 3EM13852AF) or the 1677 SONET Link Address and
Location Guide (PN 3EM13854AD).
Use CKL-122 for this procedure.

Verify software release and date against that recorded in CKL-122.

Are any alarms present?

Refer to 1677 SONET Link Maintenance and Trouble Clearing manual

(PN 3EM13853AF) to clear alarms, verify in CKL-122, then go to step 6.
Create Database Backup
to retrieve general system level configuration information.

RTRV-ALM-ALL;
If yes, go to step 5.
If no, verify in CKL-122, then go to step 6.
