Activate MOS Module

PURPOSE
This procedure is used to activate a MOS module.
GENERAL
Use this procedure for initial turn-up of a system only. Never use this procedure on a traffic-carrying
system. When working with a traffic-carrying system, refer to the 1677 SONET Link Maintenance
and Trouble Clearing manual (PN 3EM13853AC).
There is no checklist for this procedure.
STEP PROCEDURE

If the command is issued with FRCD mode, the system discovers the modules on the
OMB, and the database is updated. This can possibly take several minutes. In NORM
mode, the system discovers the modules and displays the contents only.
Activate MOS Module
to retrieve status of MOS. No devices are found until MOS module
RTRV-MOS;
to place MOS module in service. Various alarms may be
