5.1
X−Ray Tube Installation
The compensating support spacer (item 160, illustration 4−3 in RS 85 Mounting instructions,
drawing 0327 7223) must be mounted between the X−ray tube housing and the RS 85 tube arm.
1.5 mm thick plates (item 161, illustration 4−3 in RS 85 Mounting instructions) are supplied to
allow precise alignment between the X−ray tube transversal axis and the table.
One or more plates can be mounted between the spacer and the tube arm plate (Illustration 4),
between the spacer and the tube housing (Illustration 5), or both.
The tube housing is secured on the spacer with four 1/4"−20 screws, a flat washer and a lock
washer. These items are contained in bag 2192415. Screws of two lengths (25 and 30 mm) are
provided depending on the quantity of 1.5 mm plates used between the spacer and the tube
housing.
Screws must be chosen according to Table 1:

Verify that:
D when the screws are fully tightened, they do not reach the end of the tube housing hole (no
play),
D the length of the screws engaged in the tube housing is at least 8mm.
