X−RAY TUBE & COLLIMATOR
INSTALLATION ON XT SUSPENSION
3. Rotate the Tube Support Arm so the collimator is facing down, then remove the collimator
rear cover and connect to J/P1 and J/P2 plugs and collimator cables (27303 and 27236) (See
MIS MAP / MIS CHART). Route the cables according to the RS−85 Mounting Instructions, dir.
0327 7223 (Chapter 1, section 1.7). Secure collimator cables shield with strain relief plate.
Note:
The J/P1 plug is used only on the SM Collimator with Ultranet SA collimator (Auto).
The J/P2 is used for both types of Collimator (SA and SM).
4. Re−install the Collimator rear cover and reconnect small ground wire if removed in Step 3.
5.4
Collimator Lamp Voltage Checks
5.4.1
For Automatic Systems with GE Type Lamp:
1. Check that lead J/P6 H is on terminal strip 29V of RAFL−S transformer TR1 (see Ultranet and
RAFL−S Service Manual Y00W20L.04, Back Panel RAFL−S Schematic 45296256).
2. Measure the voltage at the bulb base. This voltage must be greater than 23 VAC.
5.4.2
For Automatic Systems with Philips Type Lamp:
1. Check that lead J/P6 H is on terminal strip 28V of RAFL−S transformer TR1 (see Ultranet and
RAFL−S Service Manual Y00W20L.04, Back Panel RAFL−S Schematic 45296256).
2. Measure the voltage at the bulb base. This voltage must be between 21.5 and 23 VAC.
5.4.3
For Manual Systems:
1. Measure voltage at the bulb base; this voltage must be between 21.5 V and 23.0 V for Philips
type lamp and greater than 23V for GE type lamp.
2. If not, check voltage configuration on Table secondary fuse panel (2144512).
When the Compax 40E Table is fed with 230 VAC, the lead J11−2 (secondary fuse panel)
must be connected to terminal strip 17d for GE lamp or to 17b for Philips type lamp, on
transformer T1 (see Compax 40E Schematics SM 2160704−100, schematic 2149008).
