connect the PC to the OpenCom 130
on either the COM or the Ethernet

Setting up a first connection is quite
simple with a standard Windows PC:
1. Turn off the PC. Remove all con-
nected network cables.
2. Connect the PC network card to
the LAN port on the basic mod-
ule. Use a cross-wired Ethernet
cable to do this. You can also use
an uncrossed Ethernet cable in
the case of a connection via a
LAN port of the add-on module.
3. Restart the PC. If you manually
deactivated the automatic con-
figuration of the network card
via DHCP, you must reactivate
this and again restart the com-
puter.

Note: This chapter describes initial
configuration of the OpenCom 130.
For day-to-day operation you can in-
tegrate the OpenCom 130 into a LAN
and start the Configurator from any
PC. For information on how to do this,
refer to the Configuration Examples
starting on page 65.
4. Start the Web browser. In the
address field, enter
"http://192.168.99.254/".
The login page of the Web console
will then open. For further details,
please refer to Configuring the
OpenCom 130 starting on page 57.
First Configuration via
Serial Port
The serial port can also be used as al-
ternative access for the first configu-
ration. To do this, the V.24 interface
card must be installed on the basic
module. Additionally, you require a
crossed serial line with an RJ45 jack
("null modem").
