Internal/External
S
Ports
0
All S
ports can be operated exter-
0
nally, i.e. on an ISDN network termi-
nation unit. The S
sic module and all S
additionally installed interface cards
can also be connected internally. It is
not possible to use both assign-
ments simultaneously.
Up to eight devices per bus (ISDN
telephones, ISDN fax machines, ISDN
base stations, ISDN cordless tele-
phones, ISDN adapters for the PC)
can be connected to the internal S
ports by twin-pair cables. The power
for three of these devices can be
supplied by the bus; if more devices
are used, they then require their
own power supplies. The internal S
buses enable point-to-multi-point
calls as per the DSS1 protocol (Euro-
ISDN).
U
Ports
pn
A system terminal can be connected
to every U
ble. The OpenPhone 61, OpenPhone
63 and OpenPhone 65 are cord-
bound system terminals. The Open-
Phones 63 and 65 can be cascaded
on a U
pn
erate two OpenPhones on one U
port. For further details, refer to the
"OpenPhone 61, 63, 65" user guide.
