Extension and conversion of the valve terminal
5.5.1 Expansion block
Festo P.BE-CDVI-EN en 1202e
To facilitate mounting the expansion block, Festo recom-
mends that you dismantle the CDVI from the mounting sur-
face.
If the CDVI is easily accessible, the expansion block can also
be fitted without the need for you to dismantle the valve ter-
minal. Combinations of Bi- and Mo-expansion blocks are per-
missible. In the extension, at the most 8 solenoid coils can be
triggered.
–
You can extend the CDVI by maximum
–
4 valve positions (when using exclusively Bi-expan-
sion blocks) or by
–
8 valve positions (when using exclusively Mo-expan-
sion blocks).
–
When extending the CDVI, it is not possible to use
manifold blocks because screwing together multiple
manifold blocks has not been provided for in the design.
–
In order to extend the CDVI, please use the components
listed in the following table.
Note
With more than 2 pressure zones:
Ensure that there is a corresponding pneumatic supply
port for each pressure zone.
