Troubleshooting Host and Network
Connections
To verify your 6400 computer's IP address:
1. Open the 6400 TCP/IP client DOS configuration
menus by typing the following at the DOS prompt:
chgparms
2. Ensure the setting for the Config Parms/IP address
parameter is correct.
Or, type inet stats at the DOS prompt to display the
address:
C:\>inet stats
To correct an invalid IP address:
1. Open the 6400 TCP/IP client DOS configuration
menus by typing the following at the DOS prompt:
chgparms
2. Modify the setting for the Config Parms/IP address
parameter.
Or, open PCTCP.INI and modify the setting for the
ip_address= parameter.
If you have problems making a network connection, use
ping to send an echo request to a remote host to test host
and network availability.
