Primary Reference Clock (PRC)
The main timing clock reference in SDH equipment.
Protected Domain
The protected domain for an ITM-SC contains all the network elements for which this
manager is the primary ITM-SC and which are protected by another secondary ITM-SC.

Protecting Domain
The protecting domain for an ITM-SC contains all the network elements for which this
manager is the secondary ITM-SC. See also Geographic Redundancy.
Protection
Extra capacity (channels, circuit packs) in transmission equipment that is not intended to
be used for service, but rather to serve as backup against equipment failures.
Provisioning
Assigning a value to a system parameter.
