Back ligh t Tim eou t—The num ber of second s the phone is inactive before
the backlight d im s to its Backlight Id le intensity. The backlight tim eou t
p eriod begins after you r last key press or the last phone event, su ch as an
incom ing call.
You can change the Backlight On intensity and the Backlight Id le intensity
sep arately. You can choose a high, m ed iu m , or low intensity, or tu rn off the
backlight entirely.
When you change the Maxim u m Intensity, you m od ify the entire backlight
intensity scale. For exam ple, if you d ecrease the Maxim u m Intensity, the low ,
m ed iu m , and high levels for both Backlight On and Backlight Idle intensities
d ecrease.
The backlight autom atically turns on w ith any phone activity. By setting the
Backlight Tim eout, you can d eterm ine how long the p hone shou ld be id le
before the backlight d im s to its Backlight Id le intensity. By d efau lt, after the
p hone is id le for 40 second s, the backlight d im s.
T o change the backlight intensity:
1. Press
2. From the Backlight Intensity screen, select Back ligh t O n In ten sity.
3. From the Backlight On Intensity screen, select the intensity you w ant, and
then press the Save soft key. The d efault Backlight On Intensity is H igh.
4. Select Back ligh t Id le In ten sity.
5. From the Backlight Id le Intensity screen, select the intensity you w ant,
and then press the Save soft key. The d efau lt Backlight Id le Intensity is
Low .
6. Select M axim u m In ten sity.
7. From the Maxim um Intensity screen, press the Up or D ow n soft keys to
increase or decrease the m axim um intensity the screen can d isp lay, and
then p ress the O k soft key.
