Du ring a w aiting period , you can press and hold the Talk soft key and talk to
all the p eop le listening on the channel. When you finish talking, release the
Talk soft key. The broad cast w ill enter another w aiting period until som eone
broad casts again. If no activity occurs w ithin the w aiting period , the channel
closes and no m ore broad casts can take p lace.

Ending PTT Broadcasts

You can end a PTT broad cast by releasing the Talk soft key, or by pressing the
En d PTT soft key. After you end a broad cast, the channel rem ains open so
others can respond .
If you release the Talk soft key w ithout pressing the En d PTT soft key:
You can resu m e the broad cast by p ressing and hold ing the Talk soft key
(if the broad cast is in a w ait period ).
You can't initiate another broad cast on another channel u ntil the w aiting
p eriod end s.
If you p ress the En d PTT soft key:
You can't resum e the broad cast by p ressing and hold ing the Talk soft key.
You can im m ed iately initiate another broad cast on another channel.

Adjusting the Volume of PTT Broadcasts

You can ad just the volum e of PTT broad casts w hile they p lay. Du ring a
broad cast, press to ad just the volum e of the broad cast.
If you ad just the volum e of a non-em ergency broad cast, you r p hone retains the
ad ju sted volu m e for all su bsequ ent non-em ergency broad casts. H ow ever,
only system ad m inistrators can ad just the volum e level of an Em ergency
broad cast.

Muting PTT Broadcasts

While you send a broad cast, you can press
the p eop le receiving you r broad cast w on't hear anything. This behavior is
sim ilar to a phone call.

Updating the Default Channel

If you press and hold the Talk soft key, your broad cast w ill au tom atically
transm it on the d efault channel, Channel 1. If you w ant, you can change the
d efault channel.
