Cordotomy

In Cordotomy mode of operation the NT1100 is modified to give a reduced power into a
1000-ohm load with the maximum voltage not exceeding 126 Volts. In stimulate mode
NT1100 will generate an audio tone that is in line with the Impedance at the probe tip.
Select the audio tone from the "Options Screen" select "More" and then select Date /
Time. From the "Procedure Tone" highlight the "Cordotomy" press 'Finish' twice to
return to the welcome screen.
In Cordotomy Mode the User may select a 95ºC Limit for this procedure only
From the "Welcome Screen" Press "accept" and at the "Procedure Settings" screen select
"Cordotomy Electrode" press "accept" button, (Note that socket 2 is active and used for
Cordotomy electrode).
Press the "accept" button for the Sensory stimulation screen. The NT1100 will generate an audible
tone with a frequency that will vary with the impedance of the tissue. This will be in the range of 50 to
2000 Ohms. The Audible tone can be used as a guide to the Doctor. As the electrode tip penetrates
the wall of the spinal column the frequency changes sharply, this allows the Doctor to monitor the
visual progress of the electrode into the spine with the X-ray scan as well as having the audio
frequency sound change as Audio reinforcement. Select Lesion as normal.
