4.5 Component editor

Updating the step links
The step links can be selectively updated via the shortcut menu or the "Refresh step tree
completely (F5)" button. Further, update is automatic when opening the project, when starting
the verification run and when starting to generate the cross reference list.
If the SP (subproject) or the step in the SP cannot be reached when updating, then a message
in the verification run window makes reference to this fact, and the link step is displayed in red.
The properties of the linked steps also indicate the last known properties. If the update was
possible, then the link step is shown in blue - if there were no differences between the linked
steps in the MP (main project) and those in the SP.
Response when managing in the main project:
The linked step is shown in purple if at least one difference has been found, and the step
configuration is to be checked. A message and a list of the differences found are displayed in
the verification run window to make users aware of this fact.
By saving the project, users acknowledge and accept all changes to the linked steps.
After saving, the link step is shown in blue again.
Response when managing in the main project:
All changes in the SP are accepted in the MP. The link step remains blue.
When updating the step links, it is identified and displayed as to whether:
● Steps have been added
● Steps have been removed
● Steps have been shifted
● Level type has been changed
To update, the saved SP is read accessed, even if this project is open.

4.5.1

Components and actions

In order that a component is executed when executing the package, it must be linked with a
step and the step must be selected for execution (green symbol). An existing step script can
permit or prevent execution of the components.
The component contains actions. All the relevant operations and data are inserted in the
respective actions under the relevant tab during configuration.
Moreover, an action script can be stored for every action that is capable of controlling execution
of the action, among other things.
