Please note that variables are permissible as arguments for functions.
Functions for dialogs, steps, and manipulation jobs
The functions described in the following can be used in scripts for dialogs, steps and in
manipulation tasks.
The functions can also be called via the context menu Insert script > Function.

Double quotation marks
If the interface text of a function should contain double quotation marks ", they must be written
with single quotation marks ' " ' so that they are not interpreted by CMC.
Example: Msg("Component ' " ' HMI Install ' " ' ...")
This procedure must be used for all double quotation marks within strings, just as is typically
seen in the NC.

Erroneous formatting
If an error occurs while you are formatting texts, e.g. because you did not close a "tag" or wrote
it incorrectly, this can lead to the entire formatting of the logbook being altered or destroyed
from this error onward.

Line breaks and text formatting
Line breaks can also be inserted in the interface texts using '<br>'.
Further, texts can also be formatted, see Section Text formatting options (Page 273).

Message preview
In the script/task editor, a preview dialog can be opened after the characters within the
quotation marks are selected via the context menu entry "Message preview" to check the
programmed message with regard to formatting.
Two types of Input functions are available:
● Input functions that are not linked to a particular type
● Input functions that are linked to a particular type
