Notes
A. Follow the procedures in Chapter 7 to remove the Network Interface Card
from the system, and place it on the antistatic mat.
B. There may be a problem with the Network Interface Card. To isolate the
fault, install the Network Interface Card in another slot (see Chapter 3).
C. Power up the unit and monitor the system displays on the processor card:
If the system self-test (upper) display shows the value 2, check the
system operation (lower) display:
If the displayed value matches the slot number for the Network
Interface Card, for example, if the display shows the value 5 and
the Network Interface Card is installed in slot 5, the fault can be
isolated to the Network Interface Card.
If another value is displayed on the system operation display, it
indicates that the fault is associated with other components in the
unit. The Network Interface Card is not faulty.
Follow the corresponding path on the flowchart.
If the system self-test (upper) display shows another value (not 2), it
could indicate an intermittent problem. Contact Digital Services.
D. Follow the procedures in Chapter 7 to remove the Network Interface Card
and Chapter 5 to install a new Network Interface Card.
