B.2 Environmental Information

Table B–2 shows the environmental requirements for the DECNIS 600 unit
and its components. If Network Interface Cards and distribution panels are
stored separately, the same environmental specifications apply.

Notes:
1. Reduce the maximum temperature specification by 1.8°C for each 1000 m
(1°F for each 1000 ft) above sea level.
2. If you store the DECNIS 600 for longer than 60 days, it should be in a
place that meets the DECNIS 600 operating specifications. If you store the
DECNIS 600 for less than 60 days, it should be in a place that is between
40 °C (
40 °F) and 66°C (151°F) with relative humidity below 95%.
3. During the operation or storage of the DECNIS 600, the environment must
be noncondensing.
Ventilation
The DECNIS 600 cooling system is designed to be tolerant of various rack
installation configurations. However, to provide adequate ventilation:
Do not block off more than one of the unit's inlet air vents (lower grilles).
If one vent is blocked, allow at least 5 cm (2 in) clearance around the
remaining vents.
Do not block off more than one of the unit's outlet air vents (upper grilles).
If one vent is blocked, allow at least 10 cm (5 in) clearance around the
other vent.
Do not allow the cooling air entering the DECNIS 600 to rise above 45°C
(113°F).
