• Mount the starter motor to the lower crankcase
and route the starter motor lead wire properly.
• Degrease the tapered portion of the rotor and
also the crankshaft. Use nonflammable cleaning
solvent to wipe off the oily or greasy matter to
make these surfaces completely dry.
• Align the key groove with the key
CD
and install
the rotor to the crankshaft.
• After mounting the rotor, secure the rotor by
tightening the center bolt to the specified torque
value.

• Slide the washer@ on the starter pinion shaft
and engage the starter idle gear to the starter
pinion.
NOTE:
When installing the starter idle gear, protru-
sion side @ facing in.
• Install the starter pinion assembly to the crank-
case.
