Electrical system
Electric characteristic
Secondary coil winding resistance
2.9 kOhm ± 10%
Primary coil winding resistance
0.2 Ohm ± 10%
Pick-up check
Disconnect the pick-up connector.
With a pocket tester (1000 Ohm scale) measure the resistance between the terminals of the
red and white cables. The measured resistance value must be between 105 Ohm ± 10% (at
20 °C).
If the resistance is infinite or lower than the set value, the pick-up needs to be replaced.
The side stand "1" must rotate freely and smoothly.
Carry out the following checks:
The springs «2» should not be damaged, worn, rusty or slacken.
The stand should turn freely: grease the joint if required.
A safety switch «3» is installed on the side stand «1» to inhibit or stop engine operation when the side stand «1» is lowered.
To check the safety switch «3» correct operation:
Sit on the vehicle in riding position.
Fold up the side stand again «1».
Start the engine.
With the throttle grip released and the engine at idle, lower the side stand «1», which will activate the safety switch
«3».
At this stage:
- the engine should stop;
- on the instrument panel, the side stand down warning light should be on.
NOTE
IF THIS DOES NOT OCCUR, REPLACE THE SWITCH «3».
