Maintenance
CAUTION
BRAKE LEVEL DECREASES GRADUALLY AS BRAKE PADS WEAR DOWN.
Level check
NOTE
THESE OPERATIONS APPLY TO BOTH BRAKES.
Park the vehicle on its centre stand.
Check that the fluid in the reservoir is above the "MIN" reference mark.
If the fluid does not reach at least the "MIN" reference mark: check brake pads for wear.
If the pads and/or the disc do not need replacing, top-up the fluid.
CAUTION
PARK THE MOTORCYCLE ON SAFE AND LEVEL GROUND.
CAUTION
BRAKE LEVEL DECREASES GRADUALLY AS BRAKE PADS WEAR DOWN.
Top-up
Unscrew and remove the four screws «1».
CAUTION
AVOID PROLONGED AIR EXPOSURE OF THE BRAKE
FLUID. BRAKE FLUID IS HYGROSCOPIC AND ABSORBS
MOISTURE WHEN IN CONTACT WITH AIR. LEAVE THE
BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR OPEN ONLY FOR THE TIME
NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE TOPPING UP PROCEDURE.
Lift and remove the cover «2».
Remove the gasket «3».
Top-up the reservoir with brake fluid,
up to the correct level.
Follow the reverse order for refitting the
components.
CAUTION
DO NOT SHAKE THE VEHICLE TO AVOID BRAKE FLUID
SPLASHING DURING TOP-UP.
CAUTION
DO NOT EXCEED THE "MAX" LEVEL MARK WHEN TOP-
PING UP.
TOP UP TO "MAX" LEVEL MARK ONLY WHEN BRAKE
PADS ARE NEW.
BRAKE LEVEL DECREASES GRADUALLY AS BRAKE
PADS WEAR DOWN.
WHEN TOPPING-UP, DO NOT EXCEED THE "MAX" LEVEL
MARK WHEN BRAKE PADS ARE WORN AS YOU RISK
SPILLING FLUID WHEN CHANGING THE BRAKE PADS.
