2. Turn off the server (see "Turning off the server" on page 24) and all attached peripheral devices.
Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external cables as necessary to replace the device.
3. Unlock the left-side cover, using the key that comes with the server.
Note: You must unlock the left-side cover to open or remove the bezel. When you lock the left-side
cover, it locks both the cover and the bezel.
4. Open the bezel from the release point on the left edge of the bezel, and remove the bezel away from
the server.

Removing the air baffle

Use this information to remove the air baffle.
To remove the air baffle, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins in "Safety" on page v and "Installation guidelines" on page 34.
2. Turn off the server (see "Turning off the server" on page 24) and all attached peripheral devices.
Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external cables from the server.
3. Carefully turn the server on its side so that it is lying flat, with the cover facing up.
Attention: Do not allow the server to fall over.
4. Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see "Removing the left-side cover" on page 37 ).
5. Lift the air baffle from the server and set it aside.
Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, replace the air baffle before you turn on the server. Operating
the server with the air baffle removed might damage server components.
