Some laser products contain an embedded Class 3A or Class 3B laser diode. Note the following.
Laser radiation when open. Do not stare into the beam, do not view directly with optical
instruments, and avoid direct exposure to the beam.

2. Read the safety information that begins in "Safety" on page v and "Installation guidelines" on page 163.
3. Turn off the server (see "Turning off the server" on page 24) and all attached peripheral devices.
Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external cables from the server.
4. Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see "Removing the left-side cover" on page 187).
5. Open the bezel (see "Removing the bezel" on page 185).
6. Remove the air baffle (see "Removing the air baffle" on page 189).
7. Remove the fan assembly (see "Removing the fan assembly" on page 39).
8. Remove the existing DVD drive (see "Removing an optical CD/DVD drive" on page 203).
9. Touch the static-protective package that contains the DVD drive to any unpainted metal surface on the
server; then, remove the DVD drive from the package.
10. Install the drive rail on the DVD drive.
11. Align the drive rail on the DVD drive; then, slide the DVD drive into the drive bay until the rail click
into right place.
