Interpreting Messages, Warnings, and Errors

The following is a list of printer and controller-related messages,
warnings, and errors that may occur during print processing.
Document has printed successfully: the controller is finished
printing the document.
Private print document is being held: go to the printer and release
your print job using the control panel.
Proof set has been printed: the controller has printed the first copy
of your multi-copy proof print job. Review the proof copy before you
release and print the remaining copies.
Document has been cancelled by the printer: you cancelled your
document manually, the desired paper size is not available, or the job
timed out.
Document is unserviceable: the controller is not available. Contact
the system administrator.
Printer has a paper jam: refer to the diagrams on the printer to
remove the paper jam.
Printer is offline: press the online button on the printer. If the
printer remains offline, contact the system administrator.
Cassette is out of paper: add paper to the empty cassette.
Printer door is open: close the printer cover.
Printer requires attention: contact the system administrator.

Locating a Device

ipc1 Document Monitor is configured by default to interrogate the
controller at regular intervals. The frequency with which it polls the
controller is called the refresh or polling rate.
Note: ipc1 Document Monitor cannot locate or interrogate the
controller if it has been set up as a NetWare NDPS printer or
NPRINTER.
