Adjusting Brightness

Brightness is a measure of how much white an image contains. By
increasing the brightness, the printed image appears lighter.

Adjusting Contrast

Contrast is the difference in tone between the dark and the light areas of
an image. Higher contrast yields a greater difference between the dark
and light with fewer levels of gray between them.
