Navigate
There are six basic NAV screens. NAV4, NAV5, and NAV6 only
provides data if appropriate sensors (e.g. wind speed/direction logs,
NMEA compass, etc.) are interfaced and activated on the CDU. The
NAV functions are highly interactive with the RTE1 screen, and a
number of CFG menu selections.
The RTE1 screen provides the active route for the NAV screens. It
also maintains a waypoint pass log for you. One other important fea-
ture in the RTE1 screen that you need to be aware of is that the up
and down arrow softkeys control which waypoints are skipped (down
arrow) and which are restored (up arrow) for your current route. The
ETA information is configured in the RTE 1 screen. Refer to the
Route section of the manual for a full description.
The following CFG menus directly impact the NAV functions:

COG SOG - sets the filtering time for the displayed values.
Datum - sets the reference datum for your present position and
waypoints in the active route.
GPS Offset - sets an offset for calculating the GPS antenna posi-
tion if you can't physically locate the antenna exactly where you
want it (e.g. over the centerline of the boat).
